Dentists captivated by aesthetic success of Transatlantic implantology ambassador

Issued: Thursday, 22 September 2011

North American dentists are once again being inspired and entertained by the clinical prowess of one of Europe’s leading ambassadors for implant dentistry.  Dr Nigel Saynor continues to impress clinicians on both sides of ‘the pond’ with his compelling case for outstanding implant aesthetics achieved with the ANKYLOS implant system.

In August 2011 Dr Saynor will address delegates at the Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry in Puerto Rico.  The topic ‘The Implant Supported Central Incisor – A Single Tooth Restoration’ will be delivered to members of the world’s oldest and most prestigious aesthetic dental society.  December places Nigel at the heart of the Implant Show organised by the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons in Chicago, at which he will examine soft tissue enhancement in implant cases.  He then makes a return appearance at the International Congress of Oral Implantologists’ (ICOI) winter meeting in the University of Colombia, New York.

Nigel Saynor’s focus for 2011 is on soft tissue and long-term stability, predictability and aesthetics.  Nigel observes that bone loss problems in implant dentistry are getting bigger.  But in his experience using ANKYLOS, “there is an almost complete absence of peri-implantitis and noticeable decrease in peri-implant mucositis”.  Dr Saynor consistently achieves predictable outcomes and shows case images going back over many years.  According to Nigel, “Biologically, ANKYLOS is one of the best designed implant systems available, because of the conical taper connection.  Outstanding aesthetic results are achievable due to the soft tissue response.”

In January Dr Saynor attracted over 1,000 delegates at the Implant Symposium in the University of Southern California, Los Angeles with his presentation ‘Anterior Esthetics for Ultimate Aesthetics’.  The following month, from the main podium at the winter meeting of the ICOI in Las Vegas, he treated 3,000 dentists to a lecture entitled ‘New Concepts of Therapy in Single Tooth Esthetic Zone Restoration’.  Consistently high scores for Nigel in feedback forms were reinforced by tributes such as ‘amazing’, ‘really beautiful slides’ and ‘nice cases shown’.  That month he also managed to find time to deliver a presentation in Toronto during a Tulsa Dental Specialties continuing education course.  The event drew 300 attendees, many of whom were completely new to the ANKYLOS implant system.

Last year Dr Saynor completed a tour of the United States speaking to groups of several hundred dentists at a time.  On behalf of Tulsa Dental Specialties he lectured to captivated audiences about ‘The Tissue Care Concept: A Contemporary Approach to Aesthetic Implants’.  Whilst each US state is unique from an implant dentistry perspective, the reaction to Nigel has been overwhelmingly positive everywhere.  North American clinicians are impressed that Dr Saynor has been using the same implant system for several years.

Nigel was only one of two UK speakers at the Corporate Forum during this year’s American Academy of Osseo-Integration conference in Orlando, Florida.  Feedback from past delegates ranges from ‘Dr Saynor needs to have more podium time’, to ‘Dr Saynor was fabulous’ and ‘Nigel Saynor – best lecture, great presentation, great information, funny and entertaining’.

Learn how to achieve long-term implant predictability
For dentists who are not able to enjoy Dr Saynor’s overseas performances, his Advanced Courses for Experienced Implantologists takes place on 9 September and 11 November 2011 at his state-of-the-art practice in Cheshire.  Dentists can learn how to produce superior aesthetic results and achieve long-term predictability whilst improving prosthetic solutions.  Topics cover bone grafting and sinus elevation, immediate loading and treatment planning for complex cases.  Further details and online registration are available at www.courses4implants.com.

Following attendance at one of Dr Saynor’s courses, Dr Nilesh Bhatt of Ocean Dental, Fallowfield, Manchester, enthused, “The key benefit of attending Nigel Saynor's Advanced Course was observing how he places and restores dental implants.  I can now more confidently provide treatment planning at my practice and refer complex cases, such as bone grafting.  Having one of the country's top implantologists in the team offers my practice a certain cachet.  You cannot put a price on that!"

Elsewhere in Europe, Dr Saynor is moderating at the EAO Corporate Forum in Athens in October.  This year’s theme is ‘Treatment Planning in Implant Dentistry’.  Next year promises to be no quieter for Nigel as he has accepted a keynote speaking invitation from DENTSPLY Friadent at the 2012 world symposium in Hamburg.  Over 2,500 dentists from five continents will meet for two days of an exclusive scientific programme, networking and partying in the city during 16 and 17 March.  Early online registration is available at www.dentsply-friadent.com/symposium.
