"The back-up I receive from the company is first class. I also think their commitment to postgraduate education, in the quality of the courses they promote, is unrivalled. These surely help other dental surgeons to hugely develop their skills in the field of implant dentistry. Appropriate, researched, structured training is of paramount importance in implant dentistry."

More than 300 dentists begin restoring implants

Issued: Thursday, 29 July 2010

More than 300 dentists have begun restoring dental implants for their own patients, as a result of a training programme organised by DENTSPLY Friadent.  The ‘R£LAX’ GDP implant restoration initiative is helping to make the option of implant treatment accessible to more patients through their own dentist.

A recent restoration event, hosted by Dr Mark Haswell of Stradbrook Implants, forms part of a nationwide campaign including more than fifty training sessions around the UK this year.  Stradbrook Implants places more than 700 dental implants annually and has around 200 referring dentists, with increasing numbers restoring cases for their own patients.

Mark Haswell says that, “General dental practitioners are more enthusiastic about dental implants when they are involved in the treatment process.  The 'R£LAX' restoration events include free training which helps colleagues understand more about dental implant treatment.  Attendees discover that restoring dental implants is easy and profitable, and they gain more confidence to speak with authority to their own patients about this treatment option”.

Dr Ian Cooter of The Blockley Partnership, Tunbridge Wells, who attended the Stradbrook Implants event said, “Restoring dental implants enables the practice to offer more complete patient care and enhances the treatment options available.  A colleague recommended ANKYLOS and suggested I attend a ‘R£LAX’ event.  I was pleasantly surprised at how straightforward and relatively easy it is to restore”.

Attendees at ‘R£LAX’ events qualify for three hours CPD and a free a mini prosthetics kit to complete their first restored case, plus ongoing local support from their implant surgical partner and DENTSPLY Friadent. The full events calendar and a directory of implant surgery partners are available at
