Susie has been the Practice Manager at Dental fx since the practice opened in 2006. She is a qualified nurse, oral health educator, gained a PDA in Dental Practice Management being awarded the ‘ Louisa Fraser Memorial Award’ for best student and also more recently studied to gain an Award in Training and Education. Susie has a wealth of experience in Dental Practice and is the developer of this course to enable nurses in Scotland to gain a basic understanding of the role required of the implant nurse.


Lisa Friel

Lisa qualified in 2014 from Glasgow Dental Hospital and has worked as Dr Jacobs nurse for the past 3 years. She has experience with all aspects of implant treatment, including sinus lifts and bone graft

Lisa also provides nursing assistance to Dr Jacobs at the Scottish Dental Implant year course and maintains Astra Tech component stock.


Jackie McIntosh

Jackie qualified in 1992 and has been the head nurse at Dental Fx for the past 2 years. She assists in all aspects of implant treatment and mentors new members of staff in Asepsis technique , gowning and draping.

Jackie also assists with post operative care for patients and works with the Astra Tech Implant system.


Jenna Reffin

Jenna qualified July 2014 and has worked as Dr Jacobs nurse for the past 4 years. She assists in DIEM Full Arch Replacement procedure alongside the lab technician.

Jenna also provides nursing assistance to Dr Jacobs at the Scottish Dental Implant year course and carries out sterilising and post operative care of instruments.


 

Scottish Dental Nurses Implant Training Course Friday, 8 September 2017 | 1 Day

Course Summary

This course is aimed at new and experienced dental implant nurses in Scotland, wishing to consolidate and extend their knowledge in assisting with surgery and the restorative phases of dental implant treatment. The course is primarily hands-on covering areas such as asepsis, gowning, draping, LDU and sterilisation and identification of restorative components as well as having a small theory element. The day concludes with delegates watching live surgery.

The team who are bringing this course to Scotland are three dental nurses who have each been individually trained by Dr Stephen Jacobs at his Implant Referral Clinic Dental fx. The qualified nurses have undergone extensive tutoring and between them share many years of implant nursing experience. Jackie, Lisa and Jenna work on a daily basis with Dr Jacobs and are looking forward to presenting a fun and informative day
